Fall Fashion Week – days 6 and 7

Challenges: Friday – Your favorite Fall trend. {I have a post on the Fall trends here.}
Saturday – Wear a hat.

Plaid is my trend of choice, perhaps because it seems one of the least trendy 😉

I’m not sure if wearing flowers is enough to count for the “headwear challenge, but this outfit has been planned since before the challenge.

More about this outfit later, but for now I’ll let you know that it got first place in a state competition and I’ll be going to nationals with it! The competition was the reason for this post’s tardiness (as week as Riah’s)

Fall Fashion Week – day five

Today’s challenge: Polka dots. {If you don’t have polka dots, you can do another print you own.}

I didn’t have polka dots, so I wore a shirt with a tiny floral print, and shoes with flowers. My hair is left-over from last night’s style!

Fall Fashion Week – day four

Today’s challenge: Dress like your favorite era. {1910s, 1940s, 1970s, etc…}

I wasn’t going to take part in today’s challenge, but when I realized I had to shower and change clothes for choir practice I thought I might as well dress up!

The purple dress is inspired by the 1930s with an extra twirly skirt that’s fun to ballroom dance in. I made the jacket for last year’s Make It With Wool competition. I did my (wet) hair up in a rope-braided side bun.

PS I must say that the 30s are not my favorite fashion era, but my 1870s dress is not available right now… (I will reveal why on Saturday!)

Fall Fashion Week – day three

Today’s challenge: “Bold Tights {color, prints, patterns, lace-y…} (If you don’t have bold tights you can use basic tights.)”

The closest thing I had to bold tights were these legging with ruching. They are new this season and I love them! A nice feminine way to stay warm.

I don’t have a picture of my whole outfit today. What you can’t see is a long sleeved tshirt with an apron over it 🙂

What you can see is my nice new shoes (the ones I mentioned in day one’s post), the aforementioned leggings and a denim-look skirt. I borrowed the skirt from Moriah’s closet, but I made it for her in the first place, so I think that gives me some license to wear it 🙂

Fall Fashion Week – day two

Today’s challenge: “Black & Brown/ Red & Pink / any color combinations that don’t normally go together.”

Here’s the outfit I planned to wear today. Unfortunately, the rain caused me to switch out the leather jacket for a cozier purple corduroy one (which I did not get a good picture of). I did wear the gloves and hat all day though – those were perfect accessories for a gloomy, chilly day.

Black and brown, or any other colors that don’t normally go together are easy to wear together when you have a print with both colors in it. That’s one reason I love this skirt. It has both brown and black so it goes with almost anything. The other reason I love it is that it’s so light and flowy and full!
